Unity Women’s College was established in 1991 and is run by Muslim Educational and Cultural Association (MECA) – a registered society.  A First Grade Aided College affiliated to the University of Calicut, it is the only multi-faculty (Arts, Science & Commerce) Women’s College in Malappuram District. It has also the unique distinction of being the only institution of this kind run by Muslim Community in Kerala.   The institution aims the upliftment of women in general and the educationally backward Muslim women in particular, through modern good quality education. The College has creditable academic as well as co-curricular accomplishments. The college has been accredited in 2005 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at B+ level.
